After the Last Point: The Court-to-Cocktails Edit

Banquet season, watch parties, and the long golden evenings that follow a summer of tennis. Here's what to carry — and what to throw on — when the match ends but the night doesn't.

Late August has a particular rhythm around here. The club championship trophies get engraved, the end-of-season banquet lands on the calendar, somebody starts a group text about the US Open coming on at the end of the month, and suddenly your tennis life has an evening component. You finish a match at six, you're expected somewhere at seven-thirty, and the tote that carried your racquets all summer is decidedly not the bag you want on your shoulder at the bar.
